Year Four

Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp

In Week Three, our Year Four students had the exciting opportunity to attend Mt Evelyn Discovery Camp. Over three days, the students participated in adventure and team building activities. Some activities were more daring than others!

Students tested their courage on the giant swing, soaring 18 metres into the air! Ms Katz, Mr Whitby, Mrs Westcott, Mr McIntosh and Mrs McKenzie also gave it a go, and it was definitely an adrenaline rush! We also flew down the 100m flying fox with big smiles. Students built their own shelters during hut building, using sticks and leaves as construction tools. The teachers tested out how waterproof the huts were, and some people got wetter than others! Finally, we created beautiful nature crafts with natural resources we found, and worked together in teacher-led team-building activities. One of the highlights was bike riding down steep hills, which left many students (and bikes!) covered in mud - but full of laughter.

Evenings were just as fun, with a trivia night run by Mr McIntosh and Mr Whitby, where students discovered some surprising and funny facts about their teachers. On another night, everyone relaxed with a movie, watching Luca together and the popcorn was an absolute hit!

To finish camp, the students explored the local environment on a river walk and nature trek, appreciating the beauty of Mt Evelyn’s natural surroundings.

The camp was a wonderful mix of challenge, teamwork, and fun. A big thank you goes to the staff for their support and to the students for their enthusiasm and willingness to give everything a go.
