Living and Non-Living Things
As part of our inquiry unit we are learning all about living and non-living things.
This week we got to choose if we wanted to make a grass head or a grass house. We designed our containers first, then we had a guest teacher (Mrs Collins) come in and help us plant the grass seeds in our soil. We know that we need to water our seeds and sit them in the sunlight to help them grow. We have been checking them every day to see if anything has sprouted… We will keep you updated!
We have also enjoyed exploring different activities to help us understand the difference between living and non-living things. We are reading non-fiction books and listening to factual information to help us learn new things every day. Did you know that living things need food, water, sunlight and shelter to survive? Yep, they do! We are learning so many new facts in Foundation and we are looking forward to learning so many more.
This week have been busy learning all about chickens! We have been trying very hard to show Mrs Barletta that we are knowledgeable, caring and responsible enough to have some baby chicks in our classrooms. Today we were thrilled to find out that we had successfully convinced Mrs Barletta, and eggs will be arriving on Monday!!
