Annual Parent/Guardian survey
On Monday the Annual Parent/Guardian survey opened. Families have been sent emails with their login and link to participate in this survey. The portal is now open and will remain open until Friday the 19th of September. The annual Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey offered by the Department of Education and is seeking your feedback. The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behaviour, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
Our school will use the survey results to assist in identifying areas for improvement and professional development needs in the school, to target school planning and improvement strategies.
All families are invited to participate in the survey.
The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.
Multi-Cultural Concert
This was a most spectacular event, where our talented students showcased and celebrated their diverse cultures. I was amazed by the extraordinary array of acts and by the passion and hard work students had shown during their rehearsals and on the evening. Congratulations to our wonderful Olivia Cirillo and the fabulous Arts team, for all their amazing support and encouragement of our students in producing a truly amazing multi-cultural extravaganza that was Friday’s concert. I am always taken aback by the professionalism of the productions and the talent that has been nurtured in our students. I also know that this doesn’t happen by chance. The hard work, hours, dedication and most importantly the belief in our students to excel is the defining element that this teaching team share. Thank you, on behalf of all our LSC community. We have so very much to be proud of and grateful for. I am sure all of the families who attended would agree, that this event now in its 35th year, was the best multi-cultural concert to date!
End of term and Progress reports.
With only three weeks remaining for term 3, I encourage parents to support the college by ensuring that students are present each day. Although there has been a slight reduction in the number of students arriving late each morning, I would like to remind parents that students need to be present for all classes each and every day. They cannot learn unless they are participating actively by being at school.
Year 12 students will have indicative or practise exams during the September break; these are compulsory and necessary to enable their class teacher to accurately predicate how the students may go on their final exams which start in October. Students need to attend in school uniform. The schedule has been posted to compass.
Progress reports will be available for parent to view on Compass from the 19th of September. Please discuss these with your child in an effort to instil positive behaviours for ongoing learning.
