Junior School

Simon Fairall - Head of Junior School

As we move through Term 3, it’s wonderful to see our students consistently presenting themselves with pride in their school uniform. Their neat and respectful appearance reflects not only personal responsibility but also a strong sense of belonging to our school community. Thank you for your support in helping our students wear their uniform well - it’s a visible sign of the pride they take in themselves and in being part of our school community

We also have several exciting events coming up:

Book Week – Friday 22 August

We’re thrilled to celebrate Children’s Book Week on Friday 22 August! This year’s theme is “Book an Adventure!”, inviting students to explore the magic of storytelling and the endless journeys that books can take us on. Students are encouraged to come dressed as their favourite book characters and participate in a day full of literary fun and creativity. We can’t wait to see the imaginative costumes and hear about the stories that have captured our students’ hearts.

Student Progress Meetings – Monday 25 & Tuesday 26 August

Our Term 3 Student Progress Meetings will be held on Monday 25 August and Tuesday 26 August. These meetings are an important opportunity for families to connect with teachers and discuss each child’s learning journey. Students in Years 3–6 are encouraged to attend alongside their parents to share reflections, celebrate growth, and set goals for the term ahead. We believe that when students take ownership of their learning, they build confidence and motivation to succeed.

Email invitations to book a meeting with your child's teacher have been sent to families.

Grandparents Day – Friday 26 September

On the final day of term, we welcome grandparents and special friends to join us for a day of celebration. This event includes classroom visits and student performances. It’s a beautiful way to honour the important role grandparents play in our students’ lives.

Thank you for your continued support and for helping our students shine - both in their learning and in the way they present themselves each day.

100 Days of Kindergarten!

Last Friday, our Kinders celebrated 100 days of school!

We are so proud of our littlest learners and all they’ve achieved in their first 100 days of school! From learning new routines to making new friends, they've shown incredible growth, resilience, and joy every step of the way.

We celebrated with 100-themed activities, lots of laughs, and plenty of fun!

Thank you to our Kinder students for bringing so much energy, curiosity, and happiness to our school community. We can’t wait to see what the next 100 days will bring!

Year 3 Blended Learning

To support our Blended Learning program, on Friday 8 August, Year 3 were fortunate to participate in an exciting excursion to the Albury Library Museum to learn about local history.  They explored the new ‘Bungambrawatha: Stories of Albury’ exhibition and participated in a workshop where the aim was to determine the purpose of objects from the past, and what we use instead today.  The discovery of what a chamber pot was used for was met with squeals of horror and many shocked faces.

Students also participated in an ‘interactive story time’ to learn about the thrilling events related to Albury’s involvement with the Uiver aeroplane.  They had the opportunity to try their hand at Morse code and re-enact the Uiver’s guided landing.  Students also experienced an Indigenous story time where some were able to flex their dramatic muscles and learned how to write stories with symbols.  Participating in a Heritage Walk around central Albury was also a highlight, with students identifying current buildings from early photographs, and some eagle-eyed students even spotted Mrs Pearson flying high! We are so lucky to have such a wonderful local Library to host these types of events.
