Last week our co-curricular Music ensembles participated in the Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod. All groups represented the College admirably, from the way they presented in their uniforms to their exceptional performances.
Results included:
The Senior Choir not only won their section but also won the Hollie Stanford trophy for the highest score over the entire Music section.
On Monday, it was the turn of our Dance Ensembles. The Infants Dance Ensemble came 3rd whilst the Junior Dance gained a Highly Commended. These are great results from heavily contested categories.
Could all students who performed in the Eisteddfod please stand. Can we please congratulate these students.
Many thanks to the following staff who gave up their time and led their groups with such expertise:
Mrs Lowe, Ms Gardiner, Mrs Swan, Mrs Chambers, Mrs O’Sullivan, Mr Clarke, Mrs McMillan, Mrs Morton, Mrs Bellerose, Mr Marshall, Ms Revelant, Miss Spragg
Last week, Trinity students Charlie McCormack, Ben Rowe and Duncan Webster had the privilege of recording their own original song through the AlburyCity's Kool Skools program. Schools from across the border spent the day at Melbourne’s Studio 52, recording and collaborating with fellow students and industry professionals.
The Kool Skools Project began in 2009 as a way for AlburyCity to support young songwriters and musicians to develop their craft. It continues to be a great success in building confidence and motivation to play, write and perform. The increased exposure and opportunities that flow from the project have proven Kool Skools as a platform for young people to develop careers in the music industry.
Students will have the opportunity to celebrate their final product with a CD launch later in the year.
Next week, over 160 students will be performing at the annual Performing Arts Showcase in the MPH. This is guaranteed to be an exciting smorgasbord of artistic performances from all co-curricular groups and some elective classes.
