Bullying No Way Week

As part of Bullying No Way Week, our Year 5/6 students participated in a special virtual lesson run by Kids Helpline counsellors. The Kids Helpline’s largest anti-bullying lesson was a 20-minute session streamed live and provided valuable, age-appropriate strategies to help students understand and respond to bullying.
During the lesson, students heard real stories from young people who have experienced bullying and learned about practical strategies they can use to stand up safely and effectively. These resources complement the work we are already doing through the Stand Up Project, reinforcing the importance of kindness, empathy and respect in our school community.
In addition, during the week our Stand Up Leaders took on a leadership role by presenting to the Year 3/4 students about managing conflict, when to be an upstander and how, and when to seek support. It was inspiring to see our senior students confidently sharing their knowledge and empowering younger peers to make positive choices.
This was a wonderful opportunity for our students to strengthen their skills in supporting themselves and others, and to be reminded that no one is ever alone when facing bullying.
