From the Principal's Desk

What's making news this fortnight?

We’re heading into the final stretch of Term 3 with lots happening across our school. From celebrating Book Week together, to preparing for the Debutante Ball, and looking forward to Father’s Day, it’s been a term full of highlights. We also have some important opportunities for families to connect with us and provide feedback that will help shape our school’s future.

Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey – Now Open

We’d love families to log in and share their feedback through the Parent/Caregiver/Guardian Opinion Survey. Your input helps us understand what we do well and where we can improve. Did you know? This survey is one of the most important data sets we use when planning strategically as a school. It gives us measurable targets to work on within our four-year Strategic Plan and Annual Implementation Plan. You can access the survey via the link shared on Seesaw – we really value your voice in this process.

Book Week

Book Week 2025 was a wonderful success, bringing our whole school together at the Junior Campus. The majority of students (and staff!) dressed up as their favourite literary characters, creating a fun and vibrant celebration of reading. A special highlight was the Book Fair, supported by the Greater Shepparton Lighthouse Project, which ensured every student received a brand-new book to take home. Promoting literacy and a love of reading is at the heart of what we do, and it was fantastic to see this value in action.

Debutante Ball

The countdown is on – our Debutante Ball is only days away! The Senior Campus team is buzzing with excitement as final preparations are made. The Deb is always a tremendous community celebration, recognising how far our students have come – many of whom have been with us since early childhood. Stay tuned for a special feature in the next newsletter, where we’ll showcase this milestone event.

Father’s Day Stall & Breakfast

Next week we celebrate Father’s Day, a chance to thank and acknowledge the Fathers, Grandfathers, Stepfathers, and other important adult figures in the lives of our students.

  • Senior Campus Stall: Monday 1 September
  • Junior Campus Stall: Tuesday 2 September

We also warmly invite dads and special guests to join us for a BBQ breakfast:

  • Junior Campus: Friday 5 September, 9:15–10:00am
  • Senior Campus: Friday 5 September, 10:00–10:45am

Team Teach Training

A reminder that we have upcoming student-free days for staff training. On these days, staff will complete Team Teach training, which empowers them to support student behaviour positively and confidently, while promoting restorative conversations. Student free days are:

  • Senior Campus: Thursday 11 September

  • Junior Campus: Friday 12 September

Athletics Day

Everyone bravely faced the icy conditions (I think a few of us are still thawing out!), and the atmosphere was still filled with positivity and encouragement. It was fantastic to see our school values lived out - from students cheering each other on, to staff going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. Congratulations to all, and a huge thank you to Ash Verschuren and Matt Gill (our amazing P.E Teachers) for your organisation!

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. The energy, enthusiasm, and connection across our community make all of these events possible. I look forward to celebrating the weeks ahead with you – especially our Debutante Ball and Father’s Day activities.
