🍵TasTAFE Hospitality Showcase🍵
On Tuesday 5 August, some of our Year 10 Hospitality students enjoyed participating in the Drysdale Hospitality Showcase event which is designed to provide students with an experience of real life hospitality skills in a workplace setting.
As such, Students get to rotate through a series of workshops, which include: bar skills, barista skills, kitchen operations, Virtual Reality front of house. Students will get to hear from industry professionals and find out how they got that way!
Four students were able to attend, all of whom expressed how they really valued the experience, particularly mocktail ‘making & tasting’, making crepes for morning tea and engaging in the Virtual Reality work scenario. The event is hosted each year by the Tasmanian Hospitality Association.
⚽Year 5/6 Soccer Season Finale!⚽
What a fantastic way to finish off the school soccer season! Our two Year 5/6 teams faced off against each other in the final game, showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship on both sides.
It was wonderful to see so many skills developed over the season on display, along with plenty of smiles and encouragement from teammates and supporters. A huge thank you to our coaches, families, and staff who made the season possible.
Well done to all our players – we are proud of the way you represented our school!

Our MDT students are leading with innovation! From laser-cut creations to personally designed LED lamps, they are turning ideas into reality through hands-on learning and design thinking.
This year, our students showcased a variety of their work, where their LED lamp designs lit up the room—literally! Their projects reflect our commitment to personalised, Christ-centred education that connects learning to life.
Whether it’s crafting movable houses in Design & Graphics, or transforming recycled materials into new treasures, MDT is where creativity meets purpose. 👏🏻
💃🏻🍫Chocolate Wonders🍫💃🏻
Students from the 9/10 Design and Technologies Textiles class entered the 2025 Chocolate Wonders of Wearable Art Competition this year, creating wearable art costumes in their chosen chocolate theme. We are excited to announce that Ariane and Hannah, who paired up to create the masterpiece ‘Triangles at Twilight’ are the winners of this year's ‘Judges Choice’, as well as the ‘People’s Choice’ awards this year. Congratulations girls on a fine effort. Your hard work has certainly paid off.
The students really enjoy this part of the textiles class, where they allow their creativity to flow, coming up with fabulous creations to enter into the competition each year. Their costumes have been on display in the CBD of Latrobe for the duration of the Winterfest event.
