Principal Reflections

Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 3. I hope that everyone has enjoyed a restful break. The children have returned to school excited and are actively engaged in class.
NAPLAN
In Term 1 of this year, students across Australia in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 completed NAPLAN assessments in the four domains of Writing, Reading, Conventions of Language and Numeracy. The results of NAPLAN 2025 have been released to parents today.
Parents receive an Individual Student Report (ISR) which identifies the student’s achievement in each of the four domains compared to school and state averages and against standard proficiency levels. An Additional Student Report (ASR) is also provided, which offers further details about specific areas where the student demonstrated their performance.
Please take the time to read these reports with your child. If you have any concerns or would like further clarification, please schedule a time to see or discuss this with your child's teacher.
School Improvements- building and projects update
During the school holiday break, we completed some additional improvements across both campuses.
At the Primary Campus, we have commenced the new Roofing Project. Taylor Roofing has successfully replaced the roof on the PLT and Ready to Learn rooms. Over the following holidays, we will continue this work and replace the roofs on the Year 4 and Year 3 classrooms, as well as the staffroom.
Thanks to the P&F Committee, the children at the Infants Campus are now enjoying new picnic tables to sit and have lunch. From all reports, the children and staff are really enjoying the increased level of conversation and organisation that these table settings bring to the campus.
During the September holidays, we look forward to the commencement of construction on our School Multipurpose Court. This will start with the foundations being laid at this time.
Welcome to our Notre Dame Students
We extend a special St Edward’s welcome to Olivia Justen (Year 1M) , Jasmine Paris (Year 6O) and Ben Wedgwood (KA/KC), students from Notre Dame University in Sydney, who have joined us for their 10-week professional placement! We’re thrilled to support them on their journey into the teaching profession. Throughout their time with us, they’ll work alongside our staff and learn firsthand what it means to be part of a caring school community.
I look forward to seeing our special guests, our wonderful Grandparents, at our special liturgy at 10 am tomorrow.
Keep smiling,
Alison Hatton
