Celebrating 100 Days of Learning in Foundation

Yesterday marked a significant milestone for our Foundation students as they celebrated their 100th day of school. This special occasion was not only a fun and festive day, but also a meaningful celebration of 100 days of learning, growing, and becoming confident members of our school community.

Over the past 100 days, our youngest students have worked hard to establish routines, build friendships, and embrace new learning experiences. It has been a time of remarkable growth as they’ve learned what it means to be a student learner in a wider school environment.

To mark the occasion, students came dressed in creative and colourful "100 Days Older" and "100 Days Brighter" costumes, proudly showcasing their efforts in a lively parade. I loved their confidence and pride as they walked the stage to receive their 100-day medal and certificate which was presented by their Year 5 buddies during a special whole-school assembly. It was a joyful celebration of learning, belonging, and the exciting path that lies ahead in their educational journey. Here are some comments from the Foundation students about their special day:

‘It was so much fun because we got to eat a special lunch and have a cupcake.’ – Kayla

‘I liked it when we got a medal and a certificate.’ – Ali

‘My favourite bit was the special assembly.’ – Thipthara

‘I liked walking around in the parade and getting my medal.’ - Winston

‘I liked dressing up and sitting with my buddy at assembly.’ – An

Parent Teacher Interviews and Student-Led Conferences

We extend our sincere thanks to all parents and carers who attended the Parent Teacher Interviews and Student-Led Conferences last week. These important conversations provide a valuable opportunity to support each student’s learning journey, wellbeing, and to acknowledge their achievements.

If you were unable to attend, your child’s teacher will contact you to arrange another suitable time to meet. Ongoing communication and collaboration between home and school are essential to ensuring the best outcomes for our students.

Farewell and Congratulations to Ms Kiara Davis

Tuesday, 12th August will be Ms Davis’s final day at our school, as she begins Long Service Leave for the remainder of Term 3 before commencing an exciting new role as Assistant Principal at Fountain Gate PS in Term 4.

Ms Davis has been a valued member of our school community for nearly 10 years, during which time she has made an outstanding contribution as both a teacher and a Learning Specialist. Her dedication to student learning, along with her excellent curriculum knowledge and commitment to building teacher capacity, has had a lasting and positive impact across the school.

While we will miss her expertise, leadership, and collegiality, we are incredibly proud of her achievements and wish her every success in this next chapter of her career.
