World's Worst Parents

Written by David Walliams

3/4A loves this book because...every page makes you want to keep reading more and more! This book also has lots of short stories for quick reads.

Their favourite part is... in the 'Peter Pong' story when Peter uses his own foot cheese to serve to judges on a cooking show...how disgusting!

They like the author because... David Walliams is very funny!

They recommend this book to...students from Prep to Year 12.

If you like 'The World's Worst Parents', there are more in Walliams' series including 'World's Worst Teachers', '...Pets', '...Monsters' and '...Children' to enjoy.

Thanks 3/4A for the recommendation!

Reading at home with your child

Reading with a parent/guardian at home is an invaluable experience for students all the way through primary school. Students who have targeted time to practise reading for homework show greater confidence and independence when reading.  As little as 10-20 minutes of reading at home each day is needed for students to show remarkable improvement.  Where possible, discussions about texts with your child as they complete their home reading is recommended to strengthen their experience. Read more to find out the benefits of discussing texts at home for your child!

See below for a range of questions and topics to discuss to help your child build comprehension and understanding of what they read, and make connections to their own lives.

Happy reading!
