Prep News

Welcome back to Term 3!
We’ve had a lovely start to the term, with students settling back into routines and showing lots of enthusiasm for their learning. It’s been wonderful to see their growing confidence and curiosity already shining through this week.
Literacy
This week, we’ve been busy reviewing and practising the sounds we’ve already learnt. We’re working on reading and writing words and sentences using these sounds, and developing our fluency through partner reading and class shared reading. Students are especially excited as we begin exploring this term’s Book Week theme: Book an Adventure! Stay tuned for more fun as we build up to our Writer’s Festival.
Mathematics
In Maths, we’ve been reviewing subitising, which is the ability to recognise the number of objects in a small group without needing to count them. We’re practising this important skill while also working collaboratively to solve problems and explain our thinking to others.
Inquiry
Our new Inquiry unit is all about understanding ourselves and others. We’ve started by talking about diversity and learning what perspective means. We watched the short film I See a Cat, which sparked great discussion about how different people can see and feel different things. We’re learning to appreciate and respect these differences.
Friendly Reminders
Library satchels are needed every Wednesday.
Please ensure your child has a full set of labelled spare clothes in their bag.

Inquiry Incursions Coming Soon
We’ll soon be welcoming some very special guests to support our learning about culture and diversity. A big thank you in advance to Jane (Krystal’s mum), Greg and Vinh (Tyler and Evander’s dads) for volunteering to share their stories and experiences with us.
Thank you for your continued support.
