FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Welcome to another edition of our newsletter. I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Mr Aaron Perkins for his excellent leadership while relieving as Principal during my recent leave.
Minister’s Awards for Excellence
Last Monday night, Joshua Cathie was honoured with the NSW Minister’s Award for Excellence at the Sydney Town Hall. This prestigious award recognises outstanding students from across the state. Congratulations, Joshua, on this remarkable achievement — we are very proud of you.
Education Week Awards
The Sapphire Community of Schools Public Education Week Awards celebrate those who positively impact our school community as students, staff members, or community partners. Congratulations to Joshua Cathie for receiving the Student Achievement Award, Mrs Jennifer Turner for her outstanding contributions as a staff member, and our incredible STARS Foundation for their continued dedication to supporting education and employment outcomes for our Indigenous girls.
Year 12 Trial Examinations
I would like to commend our Year 12 students for their focused and dedicated approach during the recent Trial Examinations. These assessments are not only critical for final HSC grading but also serve as a valuable diagnostic tool to identify areas for further improvement. In the coming weeks, Year 12 students will be completing course content and refining their knowledge and examination techniques in preparation for the HSC exams in October.
Subject Selection Night
On Tuesday evening, we held our Stage 5 and 6 Subject Selection Night. This event provided students and families with important information and guidance to support informed decisions about subject choices for the upcoming year.
Inclusive Education Centre Excursion
Our IEC students recently embarked on an exciting excursion to Lake Ainsworth Sport and Recreational Camp at Lennox Head. We anticipate a fantastic experience for all involved. Many thanks to the staff members who have accompanied and supported our students throughout this camp.
Thank you for your continued support of Inverell High School. We look forward to sharing more exciting news in our next edition.
Warm regards,
Mr Wayne Fowke
Principal
