Dear families

Please keep reading for the latest news and upcoming events at our school for this week.

K-2 and 3-6 Athletics Carnival - POSTPONED

We regret to inform you that the Athletics Carnival tomorrow for Years K-2 and 3-6 has been cancelled due to ground closures.

We understand this may be disappointing news for students and families, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

We have rescheduled K-2 to hold their carnival on Wednesday 3 September. Further updates will be shared in regard to the 3-6 carnival.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Our Parent-Teacher Interviews continue this week. This is a crucial opportunity for you to engage with your child’s teacher and gain insights into their academic progress and social development.

Our teachers are dedicated to preparing for each interview, reviewing student work, and developing personalised feedback to share with you. They will discuss your child’s strengths, areas for growth, and strategies to support their learning at home.

We highly encourage all parents to attend their scheduled appointments. Your involvement is key to your child's success, and these meetings are a perfect time to ask questions, set goals, and collaborate with teachers to enhance your child’s learning experience.

NAPLAN results

We are excited to announce that we have received the whole school data from the recent Year 3 and Year 5 NAPLAN assessments.

Our students have performed exceptionally well across all areas, including reading, writing, and numeracy. The results highlight the hard work and dedication of our students and staff, showcasing improvements in both cohorts compared to previous years.

We will use this data to identify strengths and areas for improvement within our teaching practices. This information will guide our curriculum planning and ensure we continue to meet the diverse needs of our learners. We appreciate the support of our families in helping students prepare for these assessments.

Meadowbank Minis

Last week we had our first session of Meadowbank Minis, a playgroup for children who will be starting Kindergarten with us next year.

This initiative is part of our transition program aimed at easing the entry into school for our new students. The playgroup will provide opportunities for children to engage in play-based learning activities, meet future classmates, and become familiar with the school environment.

Parents and carers are invited to participate in these sessions, which will help build connections within our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support and involvement in our school community. We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming events and appreciate your partnership in fostering a positive learning environment for our students.
