Spotlight on Indonesian Classes
Year 7
To finish off Semester 1, Year 7 Indonesian students enjoyed a hands-on role play activity where they practised bargaining in a book, stationery, and toy shop using Indonesian language. They also watched a traditional Indonesian folklore story and reflected on its message and cultural significance. This fun and engaging activity helped students build confidence in speaking while deepening their understanding of Indonesian culture.
Year 8
This term, Year 8 Indonesian students participated in a fun and interactive clothing market role-play activity. Using Indonesian language, they practised bargaining skills as buyers and sellers in a lively market setting. Students enjoyed applying vocabulary and phrases in real-life scenarios while learning about cultural customs around shopping and negotiating prices.
Year 9
This semester, Year 9 Indonesian students took part in a range of fun and engaging activities. They connected with students in Indonesia through a Zoom meeting, created and presented a presentation on the culture of Sumatra, and worked collaboratively to create stories based on picture prompts. These activities helped develop their language skills and cultural understanding in meaningful and enjoyable ways.
