Precious Prep

Term 1 Progress and Activities

We are delighted to share the wonderful progress and activities that have unfolded in Prep since the beginning of the year. Our students have been fully engaged in a variety of enriching experiences aimed at nurturing their development and fostering a love for learning.

In our classrooms, students have been diligently honing their fine-motor skills through a series of engaging activities. From mastering pencil grip to refining control through tasks like cutting, colouring, and tracing, they've shown remarkable dedication and progress.

Exploring the world of language, our young learners have been introduced to sounds such as 'a', 's', 't', 'i', and 'm'. Through interactive word-building activities, they've begun their journey into literacy, laying the groundwork for future reading and communication skills.

In mathematics, students have enthusiastically delved into the concept of numbers, focusing on the foundational concepts of zero to five. Through hands-on exploration and counting exercises with small groups of objects, they're developing a solid understanding of numeracy. Moreover, our students embarked on an exciting shape hunt, where they showcased their creativity by using the shapes they discovered to construct various pictures. This not only reinforces their understanding of shapes but also encourages imaginative thinking and problem-solving skills.

One highlight of our week has been 'Golden Time', a special opportunity for our students to unwind, socialise, and engage in play with a diverse array of toys. This cherished time allows them to build friendships and develop social skills.

Overall, it has been a joyous and productive start to the year in Prep. We are immensely proud of the enthusiasm, curiosity, and progress demonstrated by every student. As always, we extend our gratitude to you, our supportive parents and guardians, for your ongoing partnership in your child's educational journey.
