Health Experts – Information from 3B

We have become health experts! We have been busy learning about the human body, mental health, physical health and community health.

Some things we have learnt are; the importance of exercise and finding the right amount for our bodies. Strategies for helping us get back to the green zone, and the importance of talking to our trusted network about how we are feeling.

We have started working on projects, it has been fun because we got to choose who to work with, how to present and an area of health to focus on

Team Building Incursion

As part of their learning about Health and Wellbeing in Inquiry, students participated in a team building incursion. During the session, students worked together to solve problems including a Meteorite Mission, Blazepod Challenge, Island Hopping and an obstacle course.

  • “It was my favourite incursion yet! The Blazepod task was the best.” ~ Angus, 3B
  • “I loved it.” ~ Jamie, 3B
  • “ My favourite team building activity was the obstacle course.” ~ Ava, 3B

Maths – Reflections from 3C

This term we learnt about fractions. At first, we were given sheets of paper and folded them to make a whole, half, quarters, eighths and sixteenths. We each got to write the fractions in the boxes that were shown. After that, we did that we coloured it and made it nice. We used them to help them with our fractions. Next, we did fractions on a number line. We made a fraction wall. We got a sheet of paper. It had boxes that we had to fill in and write the fractions for. It was helpful to learn our fractions and compare their sizes.

This term we learnt about maps and location. As part of it we made a treasure map.

We started with a sheet, then we were allowed to create a treasure map. First, we drew out a line. Then we drew 5 landmarks and put them on! Then our teacher said to put the numbers and letters on then we added colour to our work.

And next we are going to do directions and see if our friends can find the treasure.
IT WAS SO MUCH FUN!
