On November 3rd, the stage was set for an exhilarating showcase of talent as two teams from Wyndham Vale Primary School, comprised of enthusiastic grade 5 and 6 students, participated in the FIRST LEGO League Regional Masterpiece Competition. The event unfolded in two exciting segments: an Innovation project presentation and Robot Games. The Innovation project required students to imagine and craft innovative ways to create and communicate art globally. Meanwhile, the Robot Game immersed students in research, problem-solving, coding, and engineering. They skilfully constructed and programmed a LEGO Robot, guiding it through missions on a game board to accumulate points.
Both teams performed these tasks with expertise, embodying the core values of the school. The grade 5 team earned accolades by clinching the motivation award, a testament to their remarkable encouragement not only for their own team but for others as well. Additionally, the grade 5 team achieved a noteworthy feat, finishing among the top 5 schools and securing a spot in the Nationals, scheduled to take place in Tasmania in December.
Congratulations to all the students who participated, showcasing their talent and dedication. A special thanks to Mr Laird and Mr Godel for coaching the teams and their support of this fantastic program!
Our Fantastic Year 2 Sleepover
On Thursday the 9th of November the fabulous grade 2s had a sleepover at the school. They were able to participate in tabloid sports and a disco and had delicious Subway for tea and icy poles to cool down after their disco. They brushed their teeth, got into their pyjamas and settled down to watch a movie. In the morning they packed up their sleeping bags all by themselves and then enjoyed cereal and toast for breakfast. Everyone had the best time and all of the teachers were so proud of how responsible and respectful the students were! Well done to the grade 2s on staying the night away from home!

Road Safety:
Wyndham Council have contacted us to inform us they will be patrolling our school area due to the large number of complaints they have received regarding dangerous driving, parking across drive ways and on the nature strips as well as the school crossings not being used.
We are asking that you are vigilant at all times and role model for our students the following:

Do not park on the nature strip
Do not park across our neighbors driveways and block them
Do not double park to drop children off/pick them up
Do not speed, be aware of your speed and the speed limit during school hours
