Year 3 Excursion

On Tuesday, 7th November 2023, Year 3 students attended an excursion located at Lizard Log (Western Sydney Parklands). They engaged in the science program, ‘Forces’ run by Ranger Jamie Tours. Students had the opportunity to participate in a number of hands-on activities experimenting with friction, gravity, air pressure, magnetism and more. This including making oobleck, designing and launching air rockets, having billy cart races, as well as engaging in soda bag explosions and more.   

Hugo (3K)

I went to Lizard Log. My favourite activity was the rockets because it was fun and easy to make even though we were almost last. I told my parents it was extremely fun and awesome and I asked if we can go there next time. 

Kayla W (3K)

I went to Lizard Log and I made snow, played with slime, went on a billy-cart, made a rocket and tested it. My favourite was the water in a bag that exploded on you if you shake it and it exploded on me.

Phoenix (3K)

My favourite activity was the rockets because we got to see how far our rockets went and I came second. I learnt about how we can make our own rocket and how air pressure worked. I told my family it was the best day ever and I got to have lots of fun. 

Kayson (3W)

Year 3 went to Lizard Log. We had a marvellous time. My favourite activity was when we passed the bags with soda water because it was hot, and I got popped on. My family found it interesting, and I was delighted.

Elena (3W)

The Year 3’s went to Lizard Log to learn about science! We learnt about forces, push and pull, and air pressure. I really liked when we shook the soda water inside of a plastic bag and I told my parents that it was so fun. I liked that activity because it explodes!

Layla (3W)

This year on Tuesday I went to an excursion. I went to Lizard Log, and we made slime, an airplane and we were riding Billy Cart. My favourite activity is the Billy Cart because when I was riding it, it was bumpy. I told my parents that I saw a lizard at lizard log park, and I got to ride a Billy Cart.
