Dear Sacred Heart Families & Friends,
As we approach the end of the school year, I am filled with a deep sense of gratitude for the wonderful community that is Sacred Heart. It is hard to believe how quickly time has passed, and as we prepare to bid farewell to 2023, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the journey we have undertaken together.
This year has been marked by growth, both academically and spiritually. Our students have achieved remarkable milestones, demonstrating dedication, resilience and a thirst for knowledge. In classrooms, in the sporting arena and within our faith community, their accomplishments have been a source of inspiration for us all.
As a Catholic school, we have continued to foster an environment where the values of compassion, empathy, and kindness are not just spoken about but lived each day. Our mission to nurture not only academic excellence but also moral and spiritual development remains at the heart of everything we do.
Our dedicated educators have worked tirelessly to create a supportive learning environment, guiding our students to discover their potential and helping them grow into responsible, compassionate individuals. I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our staff for their unwavering commitment and passion for shaping the future leaders of tomorrow.
I would also like to express my gratitude to you, our parents and carers, for your partnership throughout the year. Your involvement in the education and growth of your children is invaluable, and it truly takes a village to raise well-rounded, grounded individuals. Your support in our school events, fundraisers, and community initiatives has been instrumental in creating a vibrant and connected Sacred Heart family.
As we pause to celebrate the holiday season with our loved ones, let us remember the true meaning of this time – a season of love, joy, and reflection. May the spirit of Christmas fill your homes with warmth, and may the coming year bring you and your families abundant blessings, good health, and continued growth.
In closing, I want to express my excitement for the opportunities that the new year holds for us. Together, let us look forward to building on the foundation we have laid in 2023, embracing fresh challenges, and continuing to cultivate an environment where each child can flourish academically, socially and spiritually.
Wishing you a joyous Christmas and a blessed New Year!
In faith and gratitude,
Kaylene
A reminder that your child's Semester Two Report is available to be viewed this afternoon from 3pm. Please contact your child's class teacher if you would like to arrange a Parent/Teacher interview for the afternoon of Tuesday, 12th December or to arrange an alternative mutually convenient time.
A reminder that Step Up Day will be next Monday, 11th December. During this one hour session, the children will gather with their new class and get to know their new teacher and peers a little better, in readiness for the start of a new school year. The children will be learning of their new teacher today and will be bringing home a note to share with you.
We hope that the children will be excited about their new class for 2024 but acknowledge that, for some, nervousness about change or some disappointment may happen. As parents/carers, you can support your child with these conversations by allowing your child to express their feelings and concerns about the change and creating a safe space for them to share their thoughts. You can also validate their emotions by acknowledging that it's okay to feel a bit nervous or disappointed about change. Strategies to support your child include highlighting positive aspects such as emphasising the positive qualities of the new teacher, the opportunity they will have to make new friends and framing the change as an opportunity for growth and new experiences.
Classes for 2024 are as follows:

It was so wonderful to gather together as a school community in the school yard last night to celebrate our Sacred Heart Christmas Carols. The children sang like angels and reminded us of what Christmas is all about - the birth of Jesus in a stable to Mary and Joseph.
