YEAR 5 MELBOURNE CITY CULTURE & CONNECTION DAY

What a GREAT day last Thursday! The Year 5’s visited the Arts Centre, Birrarung Marr, the NGV, ACMI, Carlton Gardens and finished off with a delicious dinner and gelato on Lygon Street. Our vision at Greenhills is for our students to be curious, connected and open to challenge and have a positive impact on the community. Days like this one are perfect examples of us working and striving to deliver this vision.

A special thanks to Andrea Williams for her incredible organisation to make this day possible, along with all of her helpers including the Specialist Teachers, Janine and parent helper Sarah. We can now look forward to this day becoming a regular part of our camps and extra-curricular program.

FAMILY EDUCATION EVENING – TUESDAY 21st NOVEMBER 6.30pm – 7.30pm

Our Family Education Evening will again have a positive transition focus this year. This is your chance to participate in your child’s education and find out a little bit more about what next year will look like! We will launch into the fun and activities at 6.30pm and your challenge is to complete 3 different 15-minute sessions in the classrooms your child/ren will be in 2024. For example, our current Year 1 students will be able to join in with their parents through 3 different Year 2 activities, all of approximately 15 minutes so that we finish at 7.30pm.

This evening will be very active, hands on and a wonderful way to get that Greenhills experience as a family.

GREENHILLS COMMUNTIY CHRISTMAS TREE

Our school is part of the Community Christmas Tree’s display at Greensborough Plaza. Our tree was designed and decorated by our Year 1 artists who were inspired with the theme “Family Christmas”. Each student used fine liner pens to draw a scene of what makes Christmas special for their family. They then blended out the edges with chalk pastel and added their decoration to our sparkly tree.

For every $20 spent at the Plaza you receive a token to vote for your favourite tree. The winning school will then receive $2000 towards their fundraising initiatives.
