Kinder/Year 1

Our scientists have been hard at work, and we are thrilled to share the incredible culmination of our Science term! We challenged our youngest learners to step into the shoes of zoologists and engineers by creating custom animal habitats using LEGO Spike kits.
This wasn’t just regular LEGO building—our tech-savvy students used real coding, motors, and lights to bring their creations to life!
Each group was given a mission with strict design criteria:
- The Environment: Is it a wild, natural habitat or a clever artificial one?
- Survival Essentials: How does the habitat provide air, water, and food?
- Safety First: How does the animal protect itself from harsh weather and sneaky predators?
Along this wild journey of discovery, our students researched fascinating facts about the natural world, building their scientific knowledge bit by bit (and brick by brick!).
On Thursday, the big moment finally arrived. Our class stepped up to the microphone and showcased their interactive habitats at our school assembly. They coded, they explained, and they absolutely wowed the audience.
Huge congratulations to Kindergarten on presenting your very first assembly—you did an absolutely spectacular job! We are so proud of the whole class’ creativity, teamwork, and tech skills!
