Mid-Year Exams

We approach a significant milestone in the academic journey of our Senior Years students, with our Year 10s commencing their exams today and Years 11 and 12 the following week.

Examinations can be a time of challenge and pressure, but they are also an opportunity for students to demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and resilience they have developed throughout their studies.

I encourage every student to approach their exams with confidence and perspective. While these assessments are important, they do not solely define a young person’s future. What matters equally is the effort they have invested, the growth they have achieved, and the way they conduct themselves throughout the process.

To you, as parents, thank you. Your support, encouragement, and steady presence provide the foundation upon which our students can perform at their best. Whether it is helping them maintain balance, offering reassurance, or simply ensuring they get a good night’s rest — these contributions are deeply valued.

On behalf of the school, I wish all our Senior Years students calm minds, clear focus, and every success in their upcoming exams. We look forward to celebrating their efforts and achievements with you.

The courage to be YOU!!

As we continue to walk alongside our young men through these formative years, one of the most important qualities we hope to nurture in them is the confidence to simply be themselves.

Adolescence can be a time marked by comparison and concern about how one is perceived. Boys, in particular, can feel an unspoken pressure to fit a certain mould — to act a certain way, to hide vulnerability, or to measure themselves against others. Yet what we know, and what we strive to instil, is that true strength lies not in conformity, but in authenticity.

We want our young men to understand that they do not need to be someone else to succeed or to belong. Their character, their values, and their effort matter far more than the opinions or expectations of others. When a boy has the confidence to stand comfortably in who he is — whether that be quietly determined, creatively minded, relationally focused, or academically driven — he is far more likely to flourish.

Equally, we place great emphasis on encouraging each student to try his best. Not to be the best, but to give his best. There is an important distinction here. When effort becomes the benchmark, rather than comparison, boys are freed from the fear of judgement. They are more willing to take risks, to persevere through challenges, and to grow from setbacks.

Together, as a school and parent community, we have the opportunity to shape young men who are grounded, humble, and quietly confident — men who are not defined by external perception, but by a strong sense of self.
