Principal's News

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to Term 4! I hope the break gave you some extra time with your children, even if the weather didn’t always cooperate for getting outdoors.

Colac Kids Festival

A special thank you goes to Cherise Riley for her efforts in organising the Dinosaur Dig at the Colac Kids Festival.  It was a wonderful success, with so many children and families enjoying the chance to search for fossils. It was fantastic to see our school involved in such a positive community event, as it provided lots of entertainment for kids throughout the day. Thank you also to Year 6 leaders Lena M, Mae D for their help and Alfie R in Year 1.  A big acknowledgment also goes to Josiah from the Salvation Army, whose drive and commitment made the day possible.

Grandparents Day

Grandparents day is approaching quickly. Every year we endeavour to host as many Grandparents at school as we can. We are inviting Grandparents into our school on Friday 17th October for a picnic lunch on the school grounds with their grandchildren.

Grandparents should visit from about 1:15pm – 2:15pm. Our Year 6 children will escort them to the ELDEST grandchildren’s classroom where they can have a look at the work the children are doing before touring the school to admire the beautiful artwork on display.

Grandparents should bring something yummy for lunch to be enjoyed picnic style in our school grounds (or inside if there is rain). Children can still place a lunch order from Triggy’s on this day.

Please remember that NO-ONE can park in front of Triggy’s Shop. This is a 5 minute parking area.

Pevan and Sarah Concert

On Monday 13th October our Foundation students will be travelling by bus to Geelong (Play House Theatre in Ryrie Street) to join the dynamic duo “Pevan and Sarah” for a 50 minute action-packed performance full of their favourite hits. Pevan the tiger and his energetic sidekick Sarah will bring the house down in a show that’s as entertaining as it is educational.

The bus will leave Sacred Heart at 9:00am SHARP and return at approximately 2:00pm.

Students will need to wear their sports uniform and school hat, bring along their fruit, snacks, lunch and drink bottle. Please watch the weather forecast (just in case raincoats are needed).

(Please complete Permission details on PAM for your child)

As always, Term 4 promises to be full of activity and celebration — with excursions, camps, our Mission Fete, graduation, reports, and of course the lead-up to Christmas all on the horizon. It is sure to be a term where learning, community, and celebration come together.

Kind regards,

Karl Dwyer
