Student Wellbeing and Engagement

Supporting Student Wellbeing During the School Holidays

Throughout the school term, all classes take part in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) activities designed to help students build important skills to support their wellbeing and know how to seek help when needed. As part of this, every child is encouraged to identify five trusted people—at school and at home—they can turn to if they ever need support. Take a moment to ask your child who they chose and why.

You can continue to support your child's wellbeing over the holidays by encouraging them to:

  • Stay active and eat nutritious foods to help boost their mood

  • Get enough sleep to support their mental and emotional health

  • Try out calming activities like deep breathing or mindfulness

  • Keep in touch with friends and loved ones

  • Spend time doing things they enjoy

  • Practise positive self-talk and remember they are never alone

If you or your child needs extra support, don’t hesitate to seek professional help. See the image on the below for more information.
