Highlights from Heights Campus

As we approach the end of term, it has been wonderful to see students finishing strong, with expectations still high and exciting learning continuing across the school.

Our Senior Learning Centre (SLC)  students has been exploring Space and our solar system in preparation for an excursion next term to the Victorian Space Science Education Centre. Students are eager to build on their knowledge and are looking forward to extending their learning through this unique, hands-on experience.

The Junior Learning Centre (JLC) students have also been captivated by the topic of space, recently enjoying a trip to the Melbourne Planetarium. Students had a fantastic time engaging with the immersive displays and presentations, which sparked curiosity and deepened their understanding of the universe.

Meanwhile, our Foundation students have been developing their narrative writing skills through the study of fairytales. This week they were delighted to take part in a special incursion, Fairytale Fiasco, run by Drama Toolbox. Students had the chance to dress up, take on the roles of fairytale characters, and bring stories to life through drama and play—a fun and memorable way to strengthen their storytelling skills.

The school holidays present a wonderful chance for families to support ongoing learning in fun and meaningful ways. Simple activities such as reading together, visiting the local library, playing board games, cooking, or exploring the outdoors can all help build important skills and spark curiosity. Encouraging children to ask questions, share their ideas, and practise independence in everyday tasks also helps them stay engaged and confident in their learning.

We wish all our students and families a safe, happy, and restful break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back on October 6th  for another exciting term of learning!
