What's happening in the Performing Arts room?
In Prep we have been learning to share our ideas and reflections when listening to music. We have spent the past two weeks listening to each season in Vivaldi's Four Seasons and creating a drawing that we feel matches the music, as well as identifying the qualities we hear in the music and how it makes us feel.
In Grade One and Two we have finished our singing unit with some very enthusiastic performances. These videos are available to watch on Dojo if you would like to see them! We have also listened to a variety of songs and worked to identify the tempo, dynamics, qualities, how the music makes us feel, whether or not we like the song and also creating a small piece of artwork inspired by the song.
The Grade Threes, Fours, Fives and Sixes have been hard at work learning some music theory, in particular the names and lengths of different notes and rests. We completed our unit with an assessment to share our knowledge. The students are looking forward to next term when they get to put their theory into practice on some instruments!
Each week, four students from across the school are acknowledged as our Performers of the Week, celebrating their talent and effort in their lessons.
