WRITERS FESTIVAL NEWS

You may have noticed during our Open Afternoon that some pieces of writing were displayed with a red/blue ribbon. These ribbons mark our Commendation Awards.

Each ribbon represents a student who has been recognised by their teacher for showing exceptional effort, dedication, and perseverance in preparing their Writers Festival piece.

Writers Festival Year Level Winners

This year, our 3-6 students were given the exciting opportunity to submit their work for the Miners Rest Primary School Award for Creative Writing. Each year level has one winner and one runner-up, carefully chosen by teachers after rigorous discussion and consideration. These decisions were not easy—the standard of writing across our school has been truly outstanding. All winners and runners-up will have their work published in our Short Story Anthology and winners will also receive a special writer’s prize.
