Principal's Report

Dear families,
This week I was fortunate enough to be enlisted to drive our college van out to Murtoa to collect some students from Our Lady’s Help of Christians school and transport them into St Brigid’s for the experience day we hosted for primary students from eight local primary schools. As I drove out, I was in awe of the golden Canola crops against the vivid green of other crops – these are the colours of St Brigid’s College. I understand that many farms are experiencing the green drought and the need for rain is desperate (and I encourage any farming families experiencing financial difficulty to contact the College to discuss how we can support you). However, it is important to take a little time to ‘smell the roses’ during a busy term.
And what a busy term it has been already. As mentioned we had 130 primary students here on Tuesday to experience life at St Brigid’s College. The vibe was electric and I want to publicly thank Ashlee Grace for coordinating this and the many other staff who assisted in delivering learning activities. Hopefully some of these students have opened their eyes to the wonderful community and great facilities that we have here.
This coming Tuesday we officially farewell the Class of 2025 at our assembly (11:30am) and I would like to take this opportunity to (with more opportunities to come over the next month) to wish them all of the best for the future and to thank the cohort for all they have given to the College’s life. At this assembly we will also have a handing over ceremony to the Leaders of 2026. I would like to announce our 2026 Captains as Mia Rees and Ava Jackson, together with our Vice Captains Issy Mitton, Lily Jones and Lewis Hofmaier.
This weekend we continue the celebration of past students with our School Reunion for the Classes of 1975, 85, 95, 2000, 05,10 and 15. There will be great stories told of fond memories of their time at St Brigid’s and hopefully our current students are making the memories now that they will share in years to come, knowing that they will always belong to St Brigid’s College.
Stay safe,
Gerard Raven
