Daily Review in Maths

Daily Review is a short, regular part of our mathematics learning at St John’s. It provides students with opportunities to revisit and practise important mathematical knowledge and skills they have previously learned. This typically occurs at the beginning of each maths session.

Through frequent retrieval and repetition, students strengthen their understanding, build fluency and develop confidence in applying mathematical concepts. Daily Review may include quick questions, mental computation, number facts, mathematical vocabulary and previously taught concepts.

This consistent practice helps students retain and consolidate their learning, supporting the transfer of knowledge into long-term memory. It also prepares students for new learning by ensuring that key knowledge and skills remain accessible. By regularly revisiting and practising key mathematical knowledge, Daily Review supports students to become confident, capable and independent mathematicians.
