Book Week 2026

What a wonderful celebration of literature the students had on Friday, 21st August.

The day started off with a colourful Book Week parade where students and teachers came dressed as their favourite book character.  Thank you to the parents, carers and grandparents who came to watch and support the parade.

The students were also very lucky to learn the craft of illustrating from an Australian author/illustrator Nicky Johnston.  The senior students got to sketch the Opera House upside down!  The 3/4s learnt how to sketch a face of Bowen and the Junior students learnt how to sketch a bunny.

Throughout the day, students were engrossed in Book Week activities around the short-listed books and contributed to the whole school display in the corridor.

At the end of the day, the students met on the top yard for special presentations that were awarded to 1 person from each class,  for costumes showing Creativity or Collaboration which compliment our Learning Powers.

We can't wait to see how creative and collaborative the students and teachers can be to celebrate Book Week in 2027!
