St John’s Heidelberg community were privileged to have Auxiliary Bishop Thinh visit our Year Six students on Tuesday as they continue to prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Bishop Thinh spoke of the many gifts and talents bestowed on us through the Holy Spirit and about the meaning and importance of the sacrament.

The students asked thoughtful and meaningful questions as he helped them prepare for their upcoming Confirmation celebration.

What a fabulous turnout it was last Wednesday as our Year Six Confirmation candidates and their parents attended an engaging evening with our guest speaker Pia Pagotto. We were taken through the Sacrament of Confirmation and reminded of the many gifts bestowed on us through the Holy Spirit. It was moving to see the parents present share what gifts they see in their children in their day to day living.

Some feedback from families:-
‘It was a lovely evening that gave us a chance to reflect on our faith together and helped my child better understand its importance in our daily lives.’

‘It started the conversation & highlighted the way we can focus on the gifts & fruits of the Holy Spirit into our actions leading up to the 28th’
Lord,
We thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit and for the blessing of the
Sacrament of Confirmation.
As our Year 6 students prepare to receive this special sacrament, fill their hearts with Your love, courage, and wisdom. Help them to grow as faithful disciples of Jesus, making choices that reflect kindness, compassion, and hope.
May the gifts of the Holy Spirit guide them each day, strengthening them to live their faith with confidence and to share Your love with others through their words and actions.
Bless their families, sponsors, teachers, and parish community who walk beside them on this journey of faith.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
Amen.

As our Year Three students continue to prepare for their Sacrament of Reconciliation
(Penance), they are reminded that we are all part of Jesus’ flock and whilst we may sometimes stray from him in the choices that we make, He will always forgive us and gather us back to the flock.
Please pray for our Year Three students.
