We enjoyed a wonderful performance by our school Rockband and choir at assembly on Monday.
Thank you to parents who came to support our students and to Odette Strickland, our performing arts teacher, for organising this.

On Thursday 30 July, four brave Year 5s participated in the Mathematical Association of Victoria Maths Games Day at Bentleigh West Primary School. Working in teams, students tackled a variety of engaging mathematical challenges that encouraged problem-solving, teamwork, creativity and lateral thinking in a fun, supportive environment.
The day provided a wonderful opportunity for students to collaborate with like-minded peers from schools across Victoria, develop their mathematical thinking skills, and discover that maths can be both challenging and exciting. We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork and perseverance our students demonstrated throughout the day. They represented Milgate with great pride and had lots of fun putting their Maths skills to the test!

Last Friday, our Year 2 students enjoyed an exciting Forces and Energy incursion with Danny from Linked Incursions.
Through hands-on investigations, students explored how gravity, magnetism, tension and electricity help objects move.
They designed, built, tested and modified LEGO cars, applying their understanding of different forces while developing their problem-solving and teamwork skills.
It was a fantastic day of curiosity, creativity and scientific thinking!

Our Year 4 students had a fantastic time at their LEGO incursion! 🤖🧱 They built and coded a LEGO claw to pick up items, developing their teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
What a fun session of hands-on learning!

We are excited to share that our new soccer goals have arrived! Purchased with funds raised through our Colour Fun Run, these goals are already proving to be a fantastic addition to our playground.
The goals have been incredibly popular, with students enthusiastically enjoying games on the synthetic soccer pitch during recess and lunchtime.
A big thank you to everyone who participated in and supported our Colour Fun Run. Your generosity has helped provide a wonderful new resource that our students will enjoy for years to come.

Wow! On Saturday evening, Milgate's Manuka Building stepped back in time to the 1980s for a longed overdue Community Trivia Night which proved to be a huge success.
With 8 tables of trivia enthusiasts in attendance, the room was buzzing with laughter, friendly competition and plenty of 80s nostalgia. Guests embraced the theme with incredible costumes featuring neon colours, parachute tracksuits, leg warmers, roller skates, crimped hair and bold makeup. Teams put their knowledge to the test while also earning bonus points by performing a few iconic 80s classics!
A special thank you to Milton from QuizzaMe, who kept everyone entertained, engaged and laughing throughout the evening. Alongside the trivia, guests enjoyed raffles, bonus games and a silent auction, making for a fun-filled night from start to finish.
We are incredibly grateful to the many local businesses and Milgate families who generously donated prizes and auction items.
Prizes and gifts were generously donated by: Milgate Primary School; Koko Black Doncaster; Forest Hill Woodturners; Melbourne Museum; Verve Portraits; Urban Climb; SE Melbourne Phoenix; The Round Nunawading; Nicole Werner MP; Gabriel Ng MP; The Grand Warrandyte; Diamond Valley Railway.
Thanks to their support and the wonderful generosity of our community, we raised over $1,400 for our school. We sincerely thank and acknowledge every business and family who contributed to making the evening such a success.
While the fundraising was fantastic, one of the greatest highlights of the night was seeing new friendships and connections formed among our Milgate families. Building a strong and connected school community is something we value greatly, and it was wonderful to see so many parents enjoying a night out together.
We also extend our heartfelt thanks to the many Milgate staff who generously gave up their Saturday evening to join in the fun and support the event.
A special thank you goes to Tammy, Charlotte and Liz from the Parents & Friends Committee, whose dedication, organisation and enthusiasm brought this wonderful evening to life.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make Milgate's inaugural Community Trivia Night such a memorable occasion. We hope this becomes an annual Milgate tradition and look forward to welcoming even more families along next year.
Enjoy a few highlights from the evening!
