Leadership

ANZAC day - Lest we forget.

Grade 6s have begun their Action Projects - currently in the planning and preparing phase. We have a wide range of fantastic initiatives for 2026, and look forward to sharing them with you in the coming weeks. Some events are whole school (like running a P-2 Aths Carnival); others are grade based workshops (such as on Cybersafety), while others you'll notice around our school through poster making (an Anti-Racism campaign).

MADDY & ESME

Hi, we are Maddy and Esme, and we are two of the academic captains for 2026. We would like to share with you our action project that we will be running at the end of this term. If you didn’t know, an action project is something that the year sixes do to make a positive change in an area they think could value the school. Our action project that we chose to benefit this school will be a story competition, in Grades 4-6. In this competition we will have a well deserving winner from every grade, as well as a podium consisting of three stories we deem to stand out across the entire school. We chose this because we believe that it will help all students that enter to develop and practice their creative writing skills, and enable them to reach their full potential. Another reason why we chose this was because we think it imperative that all kids at school should have plenty of fun and enjoyment whilst also learning new things. We welcome all students, and encourage them to give it a go. Please remember that if you don’t win it is only a competition and we are very grateful that you participated. If you enter, we hope you learned something new, and of course, had fun!

PIPPA & PENELOPE

This term the community captains are doing an action project about helping young students feel more confident in telling a teacher to get help. What is an action project? An action project is a project the year sixes do to make the school a better place. We are going to set up a workshop with younger grades and we will play fun and important games to help children understand how to ask for a teacher when they need help. Some challenges we might face is that students don’t take it seriously, not enough time for the workshop, it may not work and people will still not ask for help. How we will try to overcome these challenges is by asking teachers for help if needed, organising time with teachers and having engaging activities. What we are going to do in the workshop is play games and puzzles that help younger kids interact with others that may be older or just that classmate so they will feel comfortable telling at least a person whom they trust. Success looks like students know to ask for help when needed and they feel more safe at school, students look to older people for help or upstanders or someone they trust and we hope they have fun. This will help children to go to school and so parents can also feel safe dropping their kids off at school. We know the school can always improve to be better, and we hope that our action project helps improve the school and make it a happier place to be.
