  • Permission Notes: These will be sent out via NForma within the next fortnight. Please look out for the notification and complete it as soon as possible.
  • Packing List: A comprehensive packing list will follow shortly after to ensure everyone is geared up for our Mt Eliza adventure.
  • Please make sure all medical information and dietary information is current and up to date.

In the meantime, feel free to visit the Camp Manyung website to see some of the activities we'll be tackling!

Mother's Day

A huge Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums and caregivers in our Year 3/4 family. We hope your day was filled with love, laughter, and perhaps a handmade card or two! Thank you for everything you do to support our students and our school.

Reading - Fluency Pairs

This term, our Learning Intention is to improve our reading fluency through a dedicated daily practice.

A fluent reader:

  • Maintains a steady reading rate (not too fast, not too slow).
  • Utilises punctuation effectively (pausing for commas and stopping for full stops).
  • Reads with expression for effect (bringing characters and mood to life).

Our 8-Minute Fluency Routine: To build these skills, students work in pairs for 8 minutes each day. They focus on the same text for an entire week to build confidence and mastery.

  • The Drill: Partners swap every minute, giving each student four focused bursts of reading.
  • Constructive Feedback: After the timer stops, students provide each other with constructive feedback.

Inquiry

Our students have been busy sharpening their research skills through a fun and engaging series of lessons all about Australian animals found in our local rainforests. With plenty of student choice along the way, they were able to decide how they wanted to tackle the task. Some students chose to work independently, becoming mini experts on their chosen animal, while others teamed up with a partner to share ideas, discoveries, and a few excited conversations along the way! This flexible approach has helped students learn in the way that works best for them, making the experience both enjoyable and rewarding.
