What's happening in Inclusive Education

Dear Pilgrim Families,

The Inclusive Education Team works with students and teachers from Foundation through to Year 6. Our team of passionate and skilled professionals works diligently to create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all students. We recognise the importance of catering to individual needs and have developed a variety of strategies to ensure that every student can reach their full potential.

A key focus of our team is to support students with core literacy and numeracy skills. We provide assistance in class and implement tailored intervention programs that address the specific challenges faced by students with additional needs. We also offer enrichment opportunities to elevate learning experiences for all.

In addition to academic support, our team assists students in developing essential organisational skills, effective study habits, and self-regulation. These skills are crucial for academic success and overall wellbeing. By equipping students with the necessary tools and strategies, we empower them to become independent learners who can manage their workloads and meet deadlines.

Beyond academics we are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive school culture. We strive to ensure that all students feel valued, accepted, and supported. One of our most-loved team members is Pretzel, our Bearded Dragon. Pretzel can often be seen sunbaking, eating fresh veggies or bugs and gazing through her window at students coming and going throughout the day. Contrary to her spiky appearance, Pretzel loves cuddles and provides a calming presence to students who need some extra support when feeling overwhelmed.

I am immensely proud of the work our team is doing. We are excited about the continued growth and achievements that lie ahead as we work hand-in-hand with students, teachers, and families.

If you would like to learn more about our initiatives or have any questions regarding inclusive education and access to learning, please feel free to reach out.

Warm regards,
