Library News

Our March new books have arrived and are now on display in the Library for the students and teachers to explore and share. We have 20 new books this month from an array of creators including Sean E Avery, Sally Soweol Han, James Foley, Pip Harry, Anna Ciddor, Robert Vescio, Nick Bland, R A Spratt, Barry Jonsberg and Lili Wilkinson, just to name a few! There are some absolutely fabulous titles across all categories, including the following two Graphic Novels, which are always a big hit with Chatham students!

Alan, King of the Universe by Tom McLaughlin

ALAN IS KING OF THE UNIVERSE. Well, not yet. But he WILL be.

An orange cat blessed with opposable thumbs, Alan is convinced he was born to rule and spends his days scheming up brilliant plans to fulfil his destiny – from creating a brand-new country, Alanland, to cloning himself in an attempt to raise an entire army of Alans. And his hapless dog sidekick Fido is just happy to be along for the ride!

Join these loveable characters on their hilarious adventures as they try to take over the universe – as long as they’re home in time for tea, of course.

This two-colour graphic novel series for 7+ readers will have kids and their grown-ups rolling around the floor with laughter.

Frog, Log and Dave Almost Save the Day by Trent Jamieson & Illustrated by Brent Wilson

From an award-winning author and artistic genius, comes this hilarious and explosive new graphic novel. Meet Frog, Log and Dave – three new almost-heroes (and Jeremy) for kids to really rally behind as the trio (and Jeremy) hustle their way through Count Evil von Evil’s plot to wreak havoc on the city. Can they convince Pollutobomb to NOT explode and save the day?

As well as reading in the Library at lunchtimes, children have enjoyed our sports themed colouring activities relating to our range of new sports fiction books that are now available to borrow!

Happy reading!
