Prep-3:

In weeks 5 and 6,  our grades from Prep-3 started their Athletics unit which started with connecting the three key skills used in Athletics with other sports and games we enjoy to be fit, happy,  healthy. We’ve started with hurdles, throwing, and relay race practise!

Grades 4-6:

In weeks 5 and 6, our grades from 4, 5, and 6 finished their mini volleyball unit with another class game of Newcomb/Volleyball, with so many students challenging themselves more and more with using the correct volleyball hitting techniques! Then they started their Athletics unit with some dodging, hurdling, and throwing.

Division Swimming:

First of all.. Go Brianna from 4/5S for making it to  Division Swimming competition that you attended today, Tuesday 11th of March. What an absolute achievement in itself. Your hard work, dedication, and persistence is shown every single time you swim, and again today in the Division Swimming Competition. You may not have made it to the State Competition, but you are an absolute swimming star in our eyes here at Bunyip Primary School! Just keep swimming 🐠🐬🐟

ART

In weeks 5 and 6 we prepared our art pieces for the Bunyip Show. The enthusiasm was just lovely to observe. The students enjoyed the farm theme. Looking forward to seeing their works develop in preparation for the Show.

All students will also be invited to work on an extra artwork at home they can submit to the Show. Information will be available soon.

SCIENCE:

Our chicks have grown up so much over the past few weeks whilst we have been learning about growth, life cycles, adaptations and habitats in Science.

Students have been tracking the growth of our chickens using formal devices and measurements, like scales and rulers, as well as with unifix blocks in the junior years. Regardless of the formality of measuring tool, one thing is for sure, they are growing up fast and are super loved by the students!they have even been spending their play times doing up the coop! We are all so proud of how responsible our students have been with the new additions to our school.

LIBRARY:

Library

Please remind your child to return their library books so that they can borrow new books each week. Students have access to the school library each week on Thursdays. Students also have access to the mobile Library each Monday. If your child does not have a public library card you can ask for a form from your classroom teacher, so that one can be organised.
