Year 1 Writing

This week, the Year 1 students took part in a fun and engaging writing experience that brought persuasive writing to life. On Tuesday morning, students arrived to discover that all of the classroom chairs had gone on strike! After discussing why the chairs might have left, students were challenged to write persuasive letters convincing their chairs to return. Using persuasive language, they explained why the chairs were important for learning and how difficult it would be to work comfortably without them.

In their letters, students made thoughtful promises to care for their chairs by sitting properly, pushing them in carefully, and treating them with respect. They worked hard to provide convincing reasons and supporting details to persuade the chairs to come back. Fortunately, their persuasive writing was successful, and the chairs decided to return to the classroom! Since then, students have continued to demonstrate responsibility and respect for their classroom furniture, showing that they can follow through on the promises they made.
