Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

GRATITUDE

On Friday, 19 June 2026  we celebrated the Year 12 Formal. The students had a wonderful evening and our College Leaders, led by Ms Gill Coyle did a fantastic job on the night with a range of awards being presented between dancing, socialising, photos and a three-course meal.

I wanted to express my gratitude to the Year 12 Leaders, and Ms Gill Coyle in particular, but also all the Year 12 students for the way they approached the evening and all the staff who made the great effort to come and support on one of our three staff tables. Thank you to you all.

CHILD SAFETY

As a part of our efforts for the safety of our community each term we have an evacuation or lockdown drill so students are familiar with the process should this ever be needed. Thanks be to God there has been no situations of a real evacuation at Nazareth, but we do continue with our process of each term having some kind of addressing of evacuation or lockdown for the safety of our whole community.

RESPECT

Our three behavioural expectations at the College are Respect, Resilience and Responsibility. It is our responsibility to teach and explain to students what these three expectations look like and how they are lived out in different contexts within school life. For example, we teach the students what respect looks like in the yard, in a classroom, on the sporting field, at a whole school assembly, in Café Naz etc. Our students generally have a good understanding of what respect looks like in different contexts. We encourage Parents, Carers and Guardians to have conversations with your children about respect, to help this learning to go deeper and also to share how the expectation of respect also works for us as adults in this community and the way we relate to teachers, each other and the young people in our community.

COMMUNICATION

We continue to invite Parents, Guardians and Carers to please contact the College and speak to the relevant staff member should there be any issues, concerns or questions, or information it would be good for us to be aware of. We want to work together with you and often a quick phone conversation, meeting in person or email can make a big difference for students. If there are things you think it would be good for us to be aware of to be able to best support your child, questions etc please do not hesitate to contact us at the College.

END OF TERM

As we come to the end of the term we thank our students for all their great efforts and contributions throughout the first semester. It has been a very busy semester and we are grateful for the wonderful students and Parents, Carers and Guardians we have in our Nazareth community.
