As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to congratulate our students on a wonderful term of learning and opportunities. Over the last two weeks, our Year 3-6 students have participated in their Swimming Program. Our 5/6 students have embarked on their Learn and Grow Health Program. Our 1/2 students are excited for their Camp Night and Sleepover. Students have also been progressing through their individual learning goals, which are being published on Compass.
To encapsulate a wonderful term of learning, we would like to invite families into classrooms for our Term 3 Celebration of Learning. The celebration will be held in classrooms next Friday 19th September from 9:05am.
I would like to congratulate Sameer Said (Year 5) and Leon Duong (Year 6) for representing Dinjerra at the Division Final Athletics Competition at Keilor on Wednesday 10th September. Sameer competed in 80m Hurdles and ran well to come third. Leon competed in Discuss and came first, with a distance of 35.4 metres! Congratulations to both boys, you have made Dinjerra proud! Leon will go onto the next division to compete again in a few weeks. Thanks to Mr Beatty for coaching!
Kori Tran from Year 3/4C participated in the National ICAS Assessments over the last few weeks. The ICAS Assessments are designed to recognise and reward academic excellence in a range of subjects. Kori participated in the English, Maths, Science, Spelling Bee and Writing assessments.
The assessments are similar to NAPLAN. The results that students can receive are in the order of: Pass, Credit, Distinction, High Distinction. We are still waiting for the Writing results; however I am elated to share Kori’s results. Kori achieved a High Distinction in English, Maths, Science and Spelling Bee assessments. This means he scored in the top 1% of students in Australia who participated in ICAS. Congratulations Kori! I know you take your learning seriously and put in a lot of effort.
From 2026, we will offer participation in ICAS as an option for Year 3-6 students.
Thank you to the 32 out of 169 families (19%) who have completed the Annual Parent Opinion Survey. If you are able to, please complete the 2026 Parent Opinion Survey. The online survey will be available in English and 10 other languages including Arabic, Greek, Hakha Chin, Hindi, Japanese, Punjabi, Simplified Chinese, Somali, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
We have sent out the generic link for the survey for parents and carers to complete. Please see Compass for the Generic PIN.
The survey is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of families’ perceptions of school climate, student behavior, and student engagement. The survey is optional, but we encourage and appreciate your participation.
The Parent / Caregiver / Guardian Opinion Survey will be open online until Friday 19 September 2025. The survey will be conducted online, only takes 20 minutes to complete, and can be accessed at any convenient time on desktop computers, laptops, tablets or smartphones.

Thank you to the families who have been able to pay their Voluntary Parent Payments already. This has allowed us to provide necessary materials, resources and subscriptions for our students. Whilst the payments are voluntary, the payments make a big difference to the functioning of our school. If you are able to make payment, please do so via Compass, or contact the office. Payment plans are also available.
If you would like further details of the parent payments and the policy, please visit our website link: DPS Parent Payment page.
