BEPS Swimming

BEPS Swimming 2025

 

On Monday 18th of August, our nine-day swimming program at Aqualink Nunawading started and it was a fantastic success. Students built their skills in freestyle, backstroke and treading water, while also learning about water safety and teamwork through fun challenges. 

Many were proud of their progress, especially in gaining confidence and staying afloat longer. A big thank you to our parent volunteers for their wonderful support throughout the program. Here are some of our students who attended sharing their highlights and what they loved about the swimming program.

Student Quotes

Foundation

Marvin- Swimming was so fun. I liked wearing my goggles. 

Grace- I loved learning backstroke. 

George - I liked torpedo kicks. 

Henry- I loved safety day, it was so fun doing the starfish. 

Mars- I loved swimming in the water.

Meadha- I loved EVERYTHING about swimming.

Arjun- I loved blowing bubbles in the water.

Year 1

Abir- I liked practising doing a torpedo stroke, swimming from one side of the pool to the other.

Mariah- My favourite thing was when we practised our freestyle and backstroke. 

Jasmine- My favourite part when we got to go in the deep pool and learn about water safety.

Zunno- I liked going in the water because it is nice and warm and I also liked torpedo stroke.

Jeeya- My favourite part was the safety lesson because we got to learn how to shout out ‘HELP’. 

 

Year 2

Yuelin- Jumping in the pool was my favourite part!

Lara- I liked it when I got to jump in the deep end.

Ryan- I liked going swimming, it was exciting and we got to learn new things like soldier kicks!

Year 3

Sanvitha- I liked that we got to learn to swim new strokes, like butterfly.

Aidan- I like that we jumped into the pool. I even touched the bottom of the pool!

Erin- I liked how we learnt to breathe under water.

Alisha- I liked swimming because I learnt new skills. 

Irene- I liked challenging myself by swimming 8 laps.

Year 4

Charlie-  I liked how we stood on the platforms and really liked the space to swim in the deep water.

Aiden- I like how we got to do some diving in the deep end of the pool.

Leah - Swimming was super duper fun, I enjoyed learning how to freestyle 

Julia - I learnt many new skills like the dolphin 

Aseel - I overcame my fears by diving in the deep end

Lina - I love swimming because it is fun and taught me new skills

Jordan - Helped me to not be in danger in the water

Chloe - I felt excited when I went into the water because it was warm

Janice - I love swimming because I learnt new skills and I liked the cold water

Year 5

Sena – I liked being able to swim with my friends.

Daniel – I liked moving up to a higher level.

Patrick – I loved swimming because the instructors were really nice and we got to play fun games in the water.

 

Year 6
