Year 5 - Camp
Alexandra Adventure Resort
On Monday 8th September, the Year 5 students set off on an unforgettable camp filled with adventure, teamwork, and plenty of fun. Over three days, students challenged themselves on a range of exciting outdoor activities, including the giant swing, flying fox, high ropes course, laser tag, low ropes course, bocce ball, and gaga ball.
The giant swing was a highlight for many, with students conquering their nerves as they were pulled high into the air before swooping back down. For some, the first drop was scary, but the thrill of swinging through the sky quickly turned it into an experience of pure excitement.
On the flying fox, students felt the rush of soaring across the air. With the wind in their faces and their classmates cheering them on, many said it was one of the most fun activities of the whole camp.
The high ropes course tested balance, bravery, and perseverance. Suspended far above the ground, students carefully made their way across ropes and platforms, supported by the encouragement of their peers. Every step brought a mixture of nervousness and pride, and the sense of achievement at the end was clear to see.

Camp also featured some ground-level adventures. The low ropes course was all about teamwork, problem-solving, and encouraging one another to complete tricky challenges. Students discovered that communication and patience were just as important as balance.
Another favourite was laser tag, where strategy and teamwork came into play. Students worked together to sneak, hide, and tag their opponents, all while having a great time in a friendly competition.

The bocce ball activity was filled with laughter and friendly rivalries. This slower-paced game gave students the chance to relax, connect, and enjoy a bit of sunshine.
And of course, this camp would not be complete without a few energetic rounds of gaga ball. Inside the gaga pit, students jumped, dodged, and hit the ball with plenty of enthusiasm, making it one of the most popular activities.
Camp wasn’t just about the activities, though. It was about building resilience, supporting each other, and creating lasting memories as a year group. The Year 5 students returned home tired but proud, with plenty of stories to tell and a new confidence to carry with them into the rest of the year.
