Year 3 - Literacy

Year 3 Literacy

Year 3 students have been exploring the exciting world of procedural writing as part of their Literacy unit. They have been learning about the key features of these procedural texts, including how to write a clear title, state the objective, list materials and equipment, and describe the method or steps involved. This structured approach is helping them develop important writing skills while organising information clearly and logically.

Last week, the learning came to life with hands-on science experiments!

Students had a blast making a volcano erupt, creating invisible ink, and designing a floating fish. These fun experiments provided the perfect opportunity for students to apply their new writing skills by composing their own procedural writing about each activity.

It was a wonderful way to combine science and literacy, and the students thoroughly enjoyed every moment!
