STEM Week - Discovering Allah's Grand Design

Primary STEM Week Highlights
STEM Week at our Primary School was a resounding success! Over two weeks, students engaged in a wide variety of exciting activities and incursions that combined fun with deep learning, all under this year’s theme “Discovering Allah’s Grand Design.”
From the Science Lab experiments such as coloured flowers, lava lamps, magic milk, chromatography, and even DNA extraction, to the Cosmo dome experience, our students explored the wonders of science in hands-on and memorable ways. The Cosmo dome was a brand-new feature this year, literally bringing a planetarium to our school.
Inside the dome, students were able to witness the wonders of the cosmos, from the stars and planets to the movements of the sun. It was an awe-inspiring and highly educational experience that gave our students the opportunity to explore the universe in a way many had never seen before.
The popular “Mad About Science” incursion also captivated learners across all year levels with fascinating demonstrations that made scientific concepts come alive.
Lunchtimes were filled with creativity and curiosity, with activities like STEM poster colouring, designing paper airplanes, building floating boats, city designs, and STEM tower challenges. These were led by staff with wonderful support from our SRC students.
In addition, classroom teachers integrated STEM themes into Literacy and Numeracy lessons, while students showcased their imagination through competitions such as “My Beautiful Mosque” (Foundation–Year 2) and “3D Mosque Model” (Years 3–6).
The week concluded with a STEM Week Dress Up Day, where students came to school in creative costumes representing science and technology, from mad scientists to solar systems and other imaginative STEM-inspired outfits. This final celebration brought colour, excitement, and plenty of fun, making it a memorable way to end the term.
Throughout the week, students were constantly reminded of the theme “Allah’s Grand Design.” Whether it was gazing at the stars in the Cosmo Dome, experimenting in the labs, or listening to the ICOM lunchtime broadcasts, each activity reinforced the message that science is not separate from faith - it is a way to appreciate the beauty and precision of Allah’s creation.
STEM Week truly reflected how learning about science deepens our understanding and awe of the Creator’s magnificent design.

Secondary STEM Week 2025
Our Secondary students celebrated the end of term with STEM Week under the theme Discovering Allah’s Grand Design. The week was filled with exciting activities designed to inspire curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Students enjoyed a variety of incursions, with Year 7 experiencing The Seriously Science Show, Year 8 participating in the Maths Escape Room, and Year 9 taking part in Rethink, Refuel, Recover. Recess times were brought to life with hands-on activities, including the Science Spectacular, the STEMazing Race, the engineering challenge Who Sank the Boat?, and the Rubik’s Cube Competition.
Throughout the week, homeroom activities gave students in Years 7–10 the chance to engage in quick STEM challenges in Science, Maths, and ICT. The celebrations concluded with a Whole School STEM Assembly on Thursday, featuring the Millionaire Hot Seat competition, teacher vs student competition and a spectacular Street Science Show – Into the Unknown, and the announcement of winners from across all events.
STEM Week was a wonderful success, providing our students with engaging opportunities to explore STEM in action while fostering teamwork, innovation, and a deeper appreciation of Allah’s magnificent creation.
