Grade 5

Wellbeing/SWBPS
Grade 5's continue to learn about being role model students in preparation for Grade 6. Over the next fortnight, each class will also be completing a cyber safety lesson.
English
Grade 5's have finished their novel study on the text 'Convict Boy.' They will now begin their knowledge rich reading unit: Natural Disasters. This will involve learning about different types of natural disasters and their impacts on people, animals and the environment.
In Writing, students will be completing an assessment, and continuing to master information texts.
At a sentence level, students will be practicing using conjunctive adverbs and semicolons, such as 'however' and 'therefore.'
Mathematics
It has been great to see so many students continuing to level up in our daily number fluency practice!
If you are in search of resources to practice, this link will take you to the M.I.N.D. website 'taped problems.' Simply choose one to play, and students can write down or say the answer before the recording.
