English

In English, this week the students have begun a new knowledge rich unit, 'The Culture of Japan,'

where they have been exploring the following questions:

• How would you describe the geography of the country of Japan?
• How can traditions and clothing show pride in a person’s culture?

In Writing, the students have been learning about persuasive writing techniques such as

identifying strong opinion words (modal verbs), emotive language, rhetorical questions, and call to actions in a text.

Mathematics 

Students have been learning about 3 digit subtraction, with re grouping twice and revising 'volume.'

Creative Connections

During Creative Connections we have been working on publishing our narratives that are connected to our learning about 'Uluru.'
