YEAR 5

Year 5 Science:

In Year 5 Science lessons, we have created objects that could help solve problems in your daily lives using electricity and circuits. Some groups have created working fans, lights and buzzers with recycled materials from home. The groups had lots of fun and have shown their true creativity when developing these gadgets, wanting to do it again sometime soon. Have a look at some of the photos of our creations.

About the Mayor’s Visit:

This term in Geography, Year 5 has been learning about how people influence places and the infrastructure within Tamworth. In Week 8, the Mayor of Tamworth, Mr. Russell Webb, came to speak to Year 5. He spoke about upcoming council plans, the new Tamworth Aquatic Pool and water use in Tamworth. We were surprised to find out that Tamworth uses an average of 25.2ML of water per day! We were interested to hear that the new aquatic centre will be built in early 2026 and will be completed by Mid-2027. Mr Webb also mentioned that there were many plans for upcoming residential developments in Tamworth and the surrounding areas. Year 5 students thoroughly enjoyed the visit from the Mayor, asked lots of appropriate questions and came away as water conscious citizens.
