Principal's Report

As we approach the end of Term 3, I would like to take a moment to thank our 2025 Captains Bethanie Collins and Rylee Schaefer and Vice Captains for their outstanding leadership and dedication throughout the year. Their contributions have greatly enriched our school community, and we are truly grateful for their commitment.

Congratulations also to our new Captains Ella Malcolm and Dennis Perriera and Vice Captains for 2026, who will begin their duties next term. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a high calibre of students willing to step up and lead. Their enthusiasm and leadership will undoubtedly inspire others and continue to strengthen our school motto of Excellence, Honour and Service.

Recently, our school had the privilege of hosting the High Potential Gifted Education Cup, bringing together over 100 primary and high school students from the Camden, Macarthur, Campbelltown, and Wollondilly Education networks. It was a fantastic event showcasing talent and teamwork across our region.

I thoroughly enjoyed attending the Year 11 CAPA Night and the Dance Spectacular, where students had the opportunity to nurture and showcase their performing arts talents. A highlight of Dance Spectacular was seeing performances from Elderslie, Cobbitty and Spring Farm Public Schools. Congratulations to all the performers and thank you to Miss Dennis and the CAPA Faculty for coordinating these events. Thank you to our P&C fundraising group who supported both events selling toasties, snacks and drinks to audience members.

A special thank you to Mrs Ferris and the Science staff for another successful Science Fair held on Thursday, 11th September. Your hard work and dedication truly make a difference for our budding scientists from Camden and Elderslie High Schools as well as Elderslie Public School.

As our Year 12 cohort enters their final weeks at school, I want to acknowledge this important milestone. They will graduate on Thursday, 25th September, before commencing their HSC examinations in Term 4. To celebrate their last days, we have planned a range of activities including mufti days, trivia night, staff versus student games, picnic day, and a Lip Sync event. These moments are designed to guide their celebrations and create lasting memories of their time at Elderslie High School.

I would like to remind parents that all students must have their phones in their YONDR pouches throughout the school day. From the beginning of next term, the school will be increasing our efforts to ensure all students are compliant with this statewide policy.

Finally, I would like to thank Mr Elphege and the staff and students who have participated in the Elderslie High School Podcast series. Parents can access this series via the Elderslie High School Facebook page where you can hear from our students and staff and their experiences as leaders and teachers at our school

Positive communication between the school and parents

We encourage all parents and carers to familiarise themselves with the School Community Charter, which outlines the responsibilities of all members of our NSW public school communities to ensure a collaborative, supportive, and cohesive learning environment for our students. Your role is vital in creating a positive learning environment, and the Charter provides guidance on how to engage with our schools effectively. We expect professional relationships with school staff to be based on transparency, honesty, and mutual respect, with communication being timely, polite, informative, and solutions-focused. We also ask for your understanding that staff may not always be immediately available while in class or dealing with other matters, but they will find a time to give you their full attention. Furthermore, we encourage appropriate use of email and social media, and emphasise that unacceptable and offensive behaviour has no place in our school community and if necessary the school will take steps to address such conduct to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone.
