Years 9 &10
As part of their Religious Education studies, our Year 10 students visited the National Gallery of Victoria to deepen their understanding of the Eucharist as represented in art. Throughout the term, students have been exploring how artists across history and cultures have expressed the symbols, rituals and meaning of the Eucharist through their work.
At the Gallery, students engaged directly with a range of religious artworks, learning how to interpret visual symbols and uncover the stories behind them. Guided by their teachers, they considered how different artistic styles reflect theological understandings and cultural contexts. The excursion provided a rich opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real works of art, broadening their perspective on how faith can be communicated creatively and powerfully across time.
